Class overview

Our 1 year olds classroom, at Heritage Christian Daycare & Learning Center, is specially designed to accommodate your child. We recognize that wobblers are naturally curious about the things that surround them so we take advantage of this natural curiosity to encourage a love of learning in a warm and safe environment with positive interactions that help a 1 year old’s sense of trust and self-esteem.

Highlight of the 1 year old wobblers classroom

  • Each day our Center provides breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 snacks at no additional charge.
  • Our staff understands the importance of communication. Each day they prepare an informative report for your review, listing all information regarding feeding, napping, diapering, and what your child especially enjoyed that day. These reports have proven very helpful to our families.
  • Our children spend their day in a warm, nurturing environment. This positive environment improves their confidence and self-esteem and helps for a life-long love of learning.
  • Our staff members are very aware of the importance of a safe and sanitary environment for our children. Each toy is sanitized twice daily. Our changing table is sanitized after each use, and we practice good hand washing techniques.
  • Parents are always welcome in our class. You will find our teachers to be supportive of parents and they always encourage their involvement.

Wobbler Curriculum

  • Our Wobbler curriculum consists of weekly themes. This format allows our teachers to create and implement weekly lessons plans based on the needs of the class. Our dedicated and loving staff works hard at making sure their students meet their learning milestones.
  • Our teachers work on teaching the children their ABC’s, numbers, colors, and shapes. The children learn through many activities such as painting, pasting, singing, playing games, coloring, flashcards as well as playing in centers and playing on their own playground.
  • Our class includes age-appropriate instructions and games to help develop thinking and fine motor skills.
  • Music is used to improve creativity and build language skills.
  • Consistencey in daily routines help the children to develop self-help skills and our activities provide repeated opportunities with sensory experiences that help strengthen and develop large and small muscles, hand-eye coordination and to promote thinking and communication skills.
  • Teachers reinforce positive behaviors, set limits, and are consistently available to support the wobbler’s conflicting need for independence and comfort.
  • Children are encouraged to play together which helps to develop both social skills and how to manage their differences and resolve conflicts.
