Class overview

Heritage Christian Daycare has been providing before and/or after school care for children in the Alvin area since 1982. We’ve learned over the years many things but one of the most important things we’ve learned is that school-age children are still children. They’re continuing to grow physically, emotionally, socially, cognitively and spiritually.  And as school agers develop, they crave peer connection so they thrive on friendships.  That’s why at Heritage our program offers your child a safe, nurturing place where friendships can be fostered, social skills can be reinforced and good citizenship can be taught.

Offered Services

TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM SCHOOL

Whether you need transportation only to school in the morning, only from school, to the center, in the afternoon, or both, Heritage does it all. To help insure your child’s safety, all staff members that drive our buses, are required to take “yearly” classes on transportation safety. We also provide booster seats for all children who are under the age of 5 years old.

  • MORNING ARRIVAL: If your child requires before school care they may choose from the following activities: Breakfast, supervised homework completion, quiet games, reading corner, computer lab or watching cartoons. Buses leave to take the children to school at 7:15 a.m.
  • ARRIVAL FROM SCHOOL: When children get off the bus, they will be greeted by one of our well qualified providers and follow a flexible schedule that will allow a balance of homework time, free time, outdoor play, and time to participate in structured activities such as games and crafts.

HOMEWORK HELP

  • Each day, after snack, our staff provides our school-age children an opportunity for homework assistance, support and encouragement. 

MEALS

  • Breakfast is served before children are taken to school. 
  • Snack is given at 3:00 p.m. 
  • Dinner is provided at 5:00 p.m. All meal are included in weekly tuition fee

PLAYGROUND

  • Our playground is a great place for social play with friends, as well as meeting the active needs that school-agers have after a busy day in a classroom. On rainy days when children are unable to go outdoors, they can divert their energy into art projects.

FIELD TRIPS

  • All field trips that the children take are always well supervised and planned out. Permission slips must be signed by the child’s parents before child is allowed to attend the trip. Transportation to each field trip is in a staff vehicle that has full insurance coverage and has routine maintenance checks done. All children’s Emergency forms and a first aid kit accompany the children on every trip. Field-Trip Fees are included in your child’s tuition.

DAYCARE T-SHIRTS

  • All children participating in an “away from the center” field trip must wear a Heritage Christian Daycare T-shirt. T-shirts can be purchased in the front office for $10.00
